Create a Conigma user group

Functional scope

In standard customizing, the user group is maintained in the Repository Browser under the node "Configuration" --> "User groups" in the tree structure on the left side of the screen. The node "Configuration" is usually only visible for administrators.

The creation of a new Conigma user group is done via the menu entry "Add new user group" of the context menu within the node "User Groups". The context menu can be opened by a right click on the node.

General settings

If the menu item for creating a new user group has been selected, a modal dialogue opens to define the properties of the new group.

Following settings can be configured in the user group.

  • None: No user can be added to the user group.

  • Conigma Object Links: New users can be manually added to the user group in the Repository Browser

  • SAP authorizations: Users are assigned using the authorization object /GAL/CCM_A, see the following chapter on Assigning a Conigma user to a Conigma user group.

  • Hybrid: In this mode, users can be added manually and using the authorization object /GAL/CCM_A

Shortcut settings

While creating a user group, other shortcut settings can also be made. Shortcuts are object attachments for email notifications, which are linked to the SAP GUI client and navigate directly to a specific Conigma object in the Repository Browser. For example, shortcuts to change requests may be included in e-mail notifications about status changes of a change request.

The following settings can be made for shortcuts:

  • Deactivate shortcuts: Email notifications to this user group are sent without shortcuts

  • System ID: Preferred SAP system to be opened by shortcuts

  • Client: Preferred SAP client to be opened by shortcuts

These settings are only relevant if the option "Enter email address for the group" is set in the general settings. If the "Use email addresses of associated users" option is set, the shortcut settings are determined from the user master records of the group members.
