Changing a Conigma user group

Functional scope

As already mentioned in the chapter about Create a Conigma user groupuser groups in the Conigma Repository Browser are usually found under "Configuration" --> "User Groups". The node "Configuration" is usually only visible for Conigma administrators.

The settings that can be configured when a user group is changed are the same as those that can be configured when a group is created. For a field reference, please use the chapter for Create a Conigma user group.

When changing a user group, however, the following things must be observed.

Changing the internal ID does not automatically change references in Customizing for authorization checks. Therefore, when changing the ID, the implementations of the ID in existing authorization checks must also be revised. If members are automatically assigned for the user group using the authorization object /GAL/CCM_A, the authorization roles that contain the authorization object with a specification for the changed user group must also be adjusted.

If you want to change the internal IDs of user groups, it would be better to clarify in advance with your Conigma contact person which effort is necessary to adjust the customizing references accordingly.

If you want to change the mode of the user group, first check the configuration editor whether the mode is currently available. The possible settings for user groups in the configuration editor can be found in the chapter for creating Conigma user groups. If the mode is changed from default mode "Conigma object links" to "SAP authorizations", manually added users without assignment to SAP authorizations are no longer members of the user group. In the reverse case of changing from "SAP authorizations" mode to "Conigma object links" mode, members must be manually reassigned. This must also be done for users that were previously automatically assigned by SAP authorizations.

If a particular user group is no longer used, set the user group to Inactive or the mode to "None" and do not delete it completely. Otherwise it is possible that unexpected problems or errors will occur if you refer directly to deleted user groups in Customizing.
